Founder - The Altar Fellowship
Pastor Mattie Montgomery is the founder of the Pathfinder Institute, the co-founder of The Altar Conference, and the senior leader of The Altar Fellowship in Johnson City, Tennessee. Mattie first stepped onto the stage of international ministry during his 10-year stint as the vocalist of renowned Spirit-filled hardcore band “For Today,” and prior to establishing The Altar Fellowship, spent years of his life serving the Church through his itinerant evangelistic ministry. Mattie is a visionary author, speaker, and pastor, whose ministries have helped lead many thousands of people into faith in Christ, and train many more in leadership, evangelism, and worship. Mattie is passionate about establishing the culture of the Kingdom in his generation through family and worship. He and his wife, Candice, live and lead The Altar Fellowship in Johnson City, TN with their three sons, Kai, Caleb, and Carver.

Ian Miller is from Sydney, Australia, and is the director of the Pathfinder Institute. With forty
years of ministry experience as a church planter, principal and founder of CRC (SA) Bible Insti-
tute, College lecturer in Theology, denominational leader in ministry development, and senior
leadership of a significant and growing multicultural church, Ian brings a wealth of practical
leadership wisdom and passion to our Pathfinder Institute. As a published author of theological
literature, Ian works to both instruct and demonstrate how to bring the deep truths of the
Scriptures into practical grasp for daily living and releasing the reality of the Kingdom on earth.
CHRIS MATHIS
The Summit Church
Pastor Chris Mathis is a voice to this generation preaching a message of life giving hope through
Jesus. He desires to see people equipped in their right identity in Christ as a “beloved” son or
daughter and out of that identity live the abundant life of peace Jesus spoke of.
Chris has a passion for church planting, and he oversees the Summit Church Movement, a grass
roots church planting movement that he and his wife Nikki Mathis founded in 2009 in Florida.
Ray Hughes
Selah Ministries
Ray Hughes is founder of Selah Ministries, he and his wife Denise live in Florence, Alabama. Ray
has been in full-time ministry for over 50 years as a singer/songwriter, and author. Known by
many as a humorist, philosopher, and storyteller, Ray is recognized internationally as a clear
prophetic voice, a revival historian, a gifted teacher, and a spiritual father.
David morrison
Executive Director
David has a passion to lead the lost to Jesus, inspire young people to run after God, live a life of the Kingdom, and go after miracles in the least and lost places of the earth. David formed and played for 7 years in the Christian hardcore band For Today alongside Pastor Mattie before being called as a missionary to Ecuador, where he served for 2.5 years planting a church and met his wife, Nikol, who was also a missionary. David and Nikol spent the next 6-years in missions mobilization and leadership with Ardeo Global, mobilizing long-term missions teams to plant 9 new churches in 6 countries. In 2019 Yahweh led them both to serve alongside Pastors Mattie & Candice (again) when He said, “Go to Tennessee and the world will never be the same.” That is the word they’re still believing today with expectation & excitement to launch the Pathfinder Institute alongside The Altar Fellowship!
Brandon Faust

Brandon Faust is the co-founder and President of Wayfinders, a non-profit community resource for self-discovery, training and launching new initiatives for good. Brandon is the co-founder and Managing Partner of Switchback, a company in Indianapolis that helps organizations unlock potential and prioritize their people in a fast-changing world. He has spent 15 years leading mid-size, large, and megachurch church ministries, leading ministry internship and residency programs and serving as a Bible Professor at a Christian university. He is specifically passionate about helping pastors navigate their way, recover from burnout, and help them live freely in the Kingdom. He seeks to help “everyday leaders discover and move toward whole-life purpose to make an impact in the world for God’s Kingdom.” He lives in the Indianapolis, Indiana area and is married to Lisa and have three beautiful children.
